Hi Monika. Please judge yourself judiciously whether you really enjoy studying for hours or you just study enough as to secure decent marks in the exams. If your answer is former then go ahead and give it your best shot. But if it is the latter then please be true to yourself and think of other good state colleges or something else.
Also judge yourself how well have you understood the concepts in the previous 2 years.Preparing for IIT definately does requires thoughrough study from class XI onwards. You just can't do wonders in a single year. And think beyond the IITs also. Its not so easy to get admission in a NIT or IIIT.Try to inform me about your final decision.
And next time you ask such question classify it under the Engineering category and you will get more answers!

I am a doctor and i took my PMT entrance after dropping a year, I didn't even take decision about being a doctor till i got my board results. I'd got a very high rank in 1996, but none in 1995.

So my advice to u is- you should try for competitive exams for engineering entrance only and only when you know you can do it (one knows it), and once decided it should be a single minded aim, no BSc no Part-time computer course and certinly no Dilly-Dallying.

Most of my co-students who didnt get through after dropping were the BSc type or the insincere ones or those who just "wanted to give it a shot"

Its worth one year definitely and go ahead with it if u know u can crack it, as I said one always knows
