Yes it is normal. Once he starts to eat more solids then he's usually too full for a lot of milk. Just keep offering him water (don't give him juice, don't start that bad habit or he'll never take water and juice is so bad for the teeth).
Has his step up milk got more calories in or is it more filling? (I'm not sure on this because I only gave mine C&G Premium).
If it has then put him back on premium and he may drink more.
Sounds like your doing the right things though and as long as your offering milk & water then he'll be fine. He'll drink if he needs it so don't be too worried.
Good luck.

It is fairly normal once solids are properly established to lose some interest in their milk feeds. At this age (and this includes any milk, yogurt or dairy products in their diet) a baby needs about 20 - 24 oz milk per day. Maybe if you kept a note of the amount you are using on things like cereals or in yogurt/custards, etc that your little one is taking it might reassure you. Also if you are very concerned about his weight gain, call into your local baby clinic and have his weight and length measured and plotted in his red book (sorry calling them that because that's what we use in Northern Ireland - I know they can be blue, green, yellow, burgundy etc). This will also give u a chance to speak to a health visitor about things too. On the other side of that, if he is taking a good amount and variety of solids and is sleeping well and content otherwise, I would think from what you're saying he is probably getting enough.

A 7 to 12 month old usually has 3 8oz bottles a day which is about 24oz, your baby is having about 20oz, plus if you use the milk to make his cereal in the morning then he is having his daily amount. If he is putting on weight and sleeping through the night (lucky you) and is otherwise healthy i wouldnt worry, but seek advice from Health Visitor or GP if your still worried.

Since he is now eating solid foods alot of his nutrition is coming from that and that tends to make him drink less formula or milk.As long as hes not losing weight.Or hes not getting dehydrated he will be fine. But if you have any question call his pediatrician.I am a mother to a 3 year old boy and a 6 month old girl

At 8 months he should be on about 3 a day so don't worry to much.
As long as he's gettin fluids (water) and enough solids in a few weeks he'll on'y need a morning and night bottle.

He may not like the step up milk, mine didn't I went back to the blue premium. And he drank more. As long as he's eating well and seems ok, then I wouldn't worry. He will drink less milk as he eats more. And definately agree with others about juice, I never gave my son juice, only water and now at 5 he loves water and dislikes juice.

My son is 11 months and only gets 3 6 oz bottles a day, when they are eating solids especially at your sons age they decrease dramatically on there bottle feeds.
If your still concerned check with your health visitor and gethim weighed im sure he is still on target

Yes this is very normal he may just not like cows milk many children don't.
Try mixing the goat milk with the cow's milk instead of straight.
Remember to get him the childrens vitamin drops.
Good Luck!

absolutely. If he is getting his nutrition from food he will not need as much milk. Try using a sip cup that he has to suck un. Playtex puts one out that has an insert in the middle then he can control better how much juice or milk he is getting. Worked for me.

was he breast fed as a babay have you recentlky weeened him of the boob if you have then that is what you are problably experiencing asrte you starting to give him solids now because that is what he should be having now instead of milk all the time. Howver I would advise you to contact your local health visitor for advice in this matter or the NCT the national child birth trust they might be abkle to help you
