I work in a college as an advisor
A merit at full GNVQ scores the same as 4 B,C grades at GCSE.
Some colleges de-value gnvqs as the method of learning is more vocational. LSC guidlines state that they should be the same but contact your college of choice asap.
Should get you onto A-Levels or BTEC Nationals or AVCEs anyway with your B.
Congratulations

I think GNVQ is a higher qualification than a gcse. Hold on till the teachers get home and log on here maybe they will shed some light on the subject. Well done with you're results by the way.

GNVQ is equivalent to 2 GCSEs at any Grade
NVQ Level 1 is equivalent to 2 GCSEs at Grades G - D
NVQ Level 2 is equivalent to 2 GCSEs at Grades C - A*
NVQ Level 3 is equivalent to 2 A-Levels
NVQ Level 4 is equivalent to HNC/HND/Degree
NVQ Level 5 is equivalent to a Masters Degree

hi GNVQ intermediat is worth 2 gcses at A-C
Where GNVQ advanced is worth 3 gcses at A-C
while HNC is equilavent to 4 gcses at A-C
and then from there they are all full degrees ok congratulations on your results then.
