I was a pirate band groupie. I've given them up because, even though I know they're pirates, I had hoped they would treat me better than they did. Now I love everything about the pirate world. Everything, that is, except the actual pirates. The pirates themselves were horrible, cruel, selfish and stinky men, (Anyone read the book Captured by Pirates?) but, outside of the men themselves, I love everything pirate. I have a whole library of books, jewelry, belts, t-shirts, costumes, even an old world style wall map so I will know where Tortuga and Port Royal are. I even bought a 3 piece renaissance outfit that is kind of spectacular. Now I'm not going to the shows. All dressed up with no where to go. I'm looking for other ways to be involved in the pirate scene. After all, I can't let my wardrobe go to waste. Any ideas?

start your own pirate group! many pirates were rough democrats, and only stank because of prevailing fashions. call yourselves, "pirates with potpourri". why be a groupie? HAVE groupies!

Go for a Best Dressed prize at a Halloween contest. I mean that sincerely, not sarcastically. It would give you the opportunity to show off your fantastic outfit. Other than that I'm not sure what you could do with it, unless you are able to find other people that are into pirates. Do you have a MySpace.com page? If not, consider starting one and post pictures of your pirate collectibles.
