Check your detergent. Have you changed it recently? Does it have anything unusual such as shiny (sparkling color).
Check the are with good light whether there are red halos---this is a fungi infection.
Some food parasites could also be a cause. Have you been in other countries recently?
Anyhow, do not scratch it as the wound will increase itchiness. Apply something like diluted alcohol and try to avoid scratching. If it continues, go to a dermatologist.

Do you cycle a lot? If you sit on a bicycle seat and sweat a lot, it could cause itching there. Make sure you wash often, even better, see your doctor just to be safe.

its called jock itch and its caused by a bacteria that grows with the excess moisture of sweat. There are plenty of anti-intch and anti-fungal creams out there...
