Dionaea muscipula, Venus Flytrap, is native to North America, specifically areas of the coastal plain in North and South Carolina. IF there are any free growing populations anywhere else they are escaped from cultivation.

I don't know a thing about plants, but I must beg to differ with the experts that posted answers.
I had seen fly traps for the first time in the wild while in North Vietnam. They may not be the North American variety, but they were fly traps. I also seen those picture plants/flowers that catch flys as Nevel mentioned.
I seen these plants on Cat Ba Island and neoghboring ialands in Ha Long Bay.

There are no Venus Flytraps in Vietnam, but there are Carnivorous plants there. There is a pitcher plant that can be quite beautiful that grows there. It is called a Nepenthes. I would imagine that in the same company of these Nepenthes you would probably find sundews growing also.
