x+1/2x-3 = 3
x+1 = 3(2x-3)
x+1=6x-9
1+9=6x-x
10=5x
10/5=x
2=x

Based on the way you spaced it out, I'm assuming (rightly or wrongly) that you want to divide x+1 by 2x, not add x to 1/2x. In other words, I've put parantheses around x+1 and 2x.
--- (x+1)/(2x) - 3=3
--- (x+1)/(2x) = 6
--- x+1 = 12x
--- 1 = 11x
--- 1/11 = x
Plugging in 1/11 into the original equation to check we have...
--- [(1/11)+1]/2(1/11) - 3 = 3
--- (12/11)/(2/11) - 3 = 3
--- (12/2) - 3 = 3
--- 6 - 3 = 3 (this is obviously true)

x + 1/2x - 3 = 3
2x - 3(x + 1/2x - 3) = 3(2x - 3)
Clearing the fraction multiplying both sides by 2x - 3
x + 1 = 3(2x - 3)
x + 1 = 6x - 9
The distributive property on the right side of the equation
x + 1 = 6x - 9
+ 9 + 9
adding + 9 to both sides of the equation
x + 10 = 6x
-x - x
subtracting - x from both sides
10 = 5x
10/5 = 5x/5
Dividing five (5) from both sides
2 = x
The answer is x = 2

I assume the equation is (x+1)/(2x-3) = 3
Thus x+1 = 3(2x-3)
x+1 = 6x-9
-5x = -10
x =2

wow I so don't remember how to do polynomials
can't be 2, then that equation wouldn't equal
2 + 1/2(2) - 3 = 3
2 + 1 - 3 =3
3 - 3 = 3
don't think so
the answer is 4
4 + 1/2(4) - 3 = 3
4 + 2 - 3 =3
6 - 3 = 3
You have to remember your order of functions. Mulitply, then divide, then add, then subtract. It's not (X+1) / (2x-3)
