As a teacher at a sixth form I have to say that although D is a pass it is not at a good standard. If your D is in maths or english then you should consider retaking as employers and universities will not take you even if you get your A levels. I mark A level work from kids who got B's at GCSE and I have to teach them how to write essays - they are that bad!!

Bizarrely it is a pass.

That means that I passed GCSE French when I only managed to achieve an E! Personally, considering how easy GCSEs are, I would not consider anything beneath a C to be a pass regardless of what the examining boards state.

Technically I believe a D is a pass, however, Universitys employers etc tend to only consider a b and c as passes. Remember, some of the most sucessful people on this planet had no qualifiction.

It is technically a pass but generally anything grade C and above is a pass and below grade C is considered a fail.

D is a pass, a good pass is C or above.

I just spoke to my sister who has got hers and she got 2 C's, loads of D's, 2 E's, 1 F and a U for RE!

She can still go to college on the grades she's got. Even if you've done bad there are still loads of options for you.

Its a pass. You may need a-c grades for college, sixth form etc but D is still a pass, so well done!
You only dont pass if you get a 'U'

A* down to a G is a Pass.

I think D is equivalent to an O Level/CSE pass.

Most Further/Higher Education and Employers ask for C and above.

Unfortunately, it's a pass, but not a good one! Although some colleges will still accept you for some courses.
