Ask for sweets or money,
The telephone was for adults,
No answering back or giving cheek,
No just taking a week off to go on holiday,
Not allowed to call an adult by their christian name,
No television after 8 pm, except on Fridays and Saturdays, 9 pm,
No lazing in bed just cause it was the weekend.

My parents were very strict, but glad they were.

Leave the end of our road without an adult.
Swear.
Bully the ginger kid round the corner.
Stay out past 7, without my mum knowing where i was at all times.
Watch telly late at night.
Have a tv in my room.
Have any kind of fun, without the proper health and safety legistations being enforced first.
Buy sweets with my pocket money
But worst of all, we weren't allowed to even know what a mobile phone was! lol (Probably coz they were too heavy to lift back then)

Hello!! :o) I was not allowed to interrupt others when they were having a conversation. It was always important that I was polite and respectful. I can't help but think that not too many kids - these days - are taught the 'golden rule' when it comes to having manners. And that's too bad. Craig!! :o)

stay out after dark....go wondering the streets with friends....disrespect other people....go to a friends house without talking to my mum first (I'm from a one parent family)....

What I did have to do which a lot of kids now days don't is I had to earn my pocket money with chores. I had jobs to do round the house like hoovering, dusting or washing up. by doing my chores I got pocket money. It was not handed to me on a plate!

I wasn't allowed to watch ITV because it had commercials on. My parents didn't want me exposed to advertising. I must say it probably worked as now I'm as immune to advertising as anyone can be when exposed to commercial messages all the time.

Swear, smoke, stay out late to name but a few. There is no respect, or discipline today and it's the parents fault. I still wouldnt swear in front of my dad.
