I would LOVE to have independence for my state. As a blue state we are the largest contributors to the federal budget. We are the cash-cow of the U.S.
Our state didn't sent it's electorate to Washington to vote for the Bush Junta, therefore we are neglected by the clown in chief. Well, we are kinda happy that he doesn't come over, so it's a draw.

If we would separate from the "union" we would be the fifth largest economy in the world. Surpassing the rest of the U.S. We could finally spend money on good projects such as preservation of natural resources, good school, clean energy and all the good that is being withheld from us by the Bush Junta.

Well I'm from New York City, and since we both are widely hated (especially by some Texans in the whitehouse) AND are net payers to the Federal tax machine, then yes, I would love independence for my city.

It's not that simple. There have been crooked politicians since the establishment of the state in ancient Greece, there have been people just plain hating each other for even longer. There will never be a perfect place like that ever, especially not in America.
