Love and hatred could be seen as the "heads" and "tails" of the passion coin....and as you can flip the one coin and it can turn up heads or tails, whatever passion you think you feel, you can flip the coin of that passion and what was "heads" a minute ago can easily end up "tails", so it is a thin line...the paradox of passion...

Hence the saying, "all is fair in love and war"....

Passions cannot follow rules necessarily, that's why they're called passion and not logic...they're an emotion...and, as such and born of the heart (as opposed to the brain) cannot be harnessed, or obey a command ...and may defy all logic and reason, hence a person hating this or loving that, their hatred or love might be inexplicable to an observor (hence the saying "love is blind", etc.)

Then again, one could argue that passion is merely an aspect of love, that true love accepts all and therefore would never hate, and that the passion aspect of love born of desire is connected to wanting to possess, and when fear of losing, of no longer possessing, or being hurt by no longer possessing means that passion that was once 'love' has turned to hatred.

If you see love as a force of creation and hatred as a force of destruction (the will to create/destroy) they really are a yin/yang 2 sides of the same coin thing....

One could see love as encompassing compassion, and hatred as the loss of compassion....and the line between having something and losing it can be thin indeed...

Then again, the 'margin of love and hate' may be a margin that differs as much as individuals. That margin may be a gulf for one person, or a thin line for another. Emotions are a personal thing!

Also, I think:
True Love will elevate your spirit,
Hatred corrode it...
Love can cure you, hatred infects you...
Love, like a drug, can heal you, but it can turn to that which sickens you (hatred)
But ultimately, I think hatred is of the ego, and love in its pure form is egoless...
Hatred perpetuates by clinging and not letting go, but Love often requires--maybe even evolves to inevitably require--letting go in one way or another...
Hatred needs to be fed, may require constant feeding, and if not fed should fade with time, but love can transcend space and time...as in, eternal...

I propose that there is no margin, they are one and the same. They are not two seperate entities, but act in cycle with each other as one. How can you hate someone without ever loving them first or vice versa.

For example, couples are a prime testimony of my idea....They are always loving each other, then suddenly just like that they hate each other. The margin that you speak of doesnt seem to exist, Watching t.v together is not neutral, no couples ever communicate with each other neutraly.

The line between love & hate is a very thin margin. Lovers are also haters & Haters are also lovers. Try to lead a life without love & hate, that is ideal. Everybody does what he/she wnats without getting involved in loving & hating - unlike the guy wanting pay sex in Mathura. That guy wants to pay to get involved in physical sex ( love ), after-sex hangover ( hate ), AIDS ( hate ), etc.

on the margins of love and hate is self-discovery; love and hate, on the other hand, have no margins...it completely encompasses that which it touches and consumes all that is; that is how strong such emotions are...
