Can you reply to this AFTER thinking it through? The quickness of the web often creates the problem, not any sort of "addiction" that you mention.
In the 1890s a Colorado Governor (Gilpin) proposed a bridge over the Bering Strait connecting a railroad system all over the world. An engineer proposed a similar bridge to Pres. Reagan
and the Discovery Channel did a show all about the benefits, and problems. An engineer who proposed a tunnel under the Long Island Sound (Sam Berliner) to Pres. Clinton also proposed one under the Bering Strait.
Well, the idea for a board game would have some of these details in it, but we could also "play" with the idea more - you know, overcome boredom. www.xanga.com/ivyleaguefood

~The Heavenly Wal-Mart Strategy for the Peaceful Ideal
Kingdom~
Carrying out the revolutionary Bering Strait Tunnel project will provide a critical and substantial catalyst to the creation of the International Transportation System envisioned by many years ago when the technology was but a dream. The primary mechanism for this revolutionary impact will not be the transport of human beings by car across a bridge/tunnel combination, as many believe. Few hearty souls will likely venture such an automobile excursion when airplane travel would be so much faster and even perhaps less costly. Nor will the primary benefit be found in the transportation of oil from Siberia and China to the U.S. A simple oil pipeline across the Bering Strait would be far easier and cheaper to construct and would suffice to provide such economic benefits.
Instead, the primary practical and economic value of the Bering Strait Project will be the transport of marketable goods and materials from Asia to North and South America, especially to the United States and Canada. In fact, one could describe the significance of the Project as the Heavenly Wal-Mart Strategy for the Peaceful Ideal Kingdom. Millions of tons of consumer goods are currently being shipped from China, Japan, South Korea and all of Asia to the United States and the Americas by way of thousands of slow, sea-faring ships. These ships take weeks to deliver their goods to the Western shores of North America. Creating the Bering Strait Tunnel project would put
into place scores of high-speed freight trains which could travel hundreds of miles per hour, one after another, delivering the same goods to their destinations in a matter of days, rather than weeks. Such supply-line advantages would provide a significant benefit to businesses on both sides of the Pacific Ocean, and spawn a serious construction program throughout Asia to connect producers with the Bearing Strait Tunnel supply trains. Not only would China want to make use of such a supply line, but Taiwan, South Korea, and also Japan. Thus, the International Peace Highway, envisioned long ago by Gilpin, Straus, Berliner (see article at Wikipedia) would naturally fall into place, with Japan jumping at the opportunities and taking steps to immediately join in the creation of a train and highway system bridging the islands of Japan to South Korea, and joining with all related countries such as China and Russia to
persuade the North Korean government to allow the extension of their transportation system through its borders to the new Bering Strait artery to the West. Thus, Peace will be created by the mutual benefit of co-prosperity and intercultural exchange.

As for me, I want to start with the board game version to explore the idea...
