After five weeks of summer holidays you must be childless to ask that question. I have two children going back next week and its not soon enough. Love them but could do with a break from them.

The summer school holiday is too long, an overhaul is necessary.
A longer school day and staggered holidays, a more normal 9-5 day week.
A 2 week holiday period is more refreshing than a 6 week layoff.
Each 2 week holiday could reflect an end of work/project time and allow both teacher and student to use the 2 weeks more effectively to prepare for the next session.

Schools should only have the Weekends and Bank Holidays off like everyone else does.
The School Year should run from 1st January to 31st December. The GCSE and A Level exams should be in November/December time.

Shorter summer and longer at Christmas.
The summer holidays were arranged because when many people were still farmers etc, the kids could help out at the busiest time of year, it is about time things changed.
Only a couple of weeks like, cos at least you've got a better chance of getting outdoors in 'summer'.

Less holidays in the summer and increase it for over the christmas. They are far too long over the summer and it must be hard for the kids to get motivated when they go back.

I'd like to see shorter days - I think the days are very long, especially for the younger children. Less winter holidays, shorter days, get rid of "inset days" (so working parents know where they stand!) and earlier summer holidays.

more holidays in summer as there is alot of heatwaves then the children needs to stay at home and this cause inconvenience for the parents that will need to make alternative arrangements.
less holidays in winter so that the children is not too bored at home having nothing to do.

Yes, by introducing lessons that will benefit students in later life ~ when they will have to go out to earn a crust.
