There are people who must feel pretty threatened by the idea that a person could reject all belief systems and value systems. Otherwise why would they find it necessary to argue that it is impossible, based on this specious, semantic argument.

The definition of nihilism is: the rejection of customary beliefs and morality. The belief that there is no meaning or purpose to existence.

If it comforts some folks to think it is not possible to be a nihilist, be my guest. Perhaps you would like to assign another name to my world view.

Nihilists generally assert some or all of the following: there is no reasonable proof of the existence of a higher ruler or creator, a "true morality" is unknown, and secular ethics are impossible; therefore, life has no truth, and no action is known to be preferable to any other.

Great question

Simply they believe in nothing...it is not a real belief system as it is impossible to believe in nothing, our brains will not allow it as there is too much rationality in the observable universe...

For this reason, Nihilism is a term for an extreme form of agnostism but more correctly it is a term for the a psychiatric disorder whereby the patient expereinces a complete dis-association with the world: very dangerous for the patient

They REALLY believe that the world is real, they are human, etc etc. It is human nature to believe these things, and is inescapable. They only WISH they would not believe in that stuff.
