U can find it fast using differential formula. But normally it will not be accurate. Depends on where ur going to use this calculation. If it is for fast calculation then u can use it.

To find diffential formula, what u need to do is

Example 1: If you want to find root of 5 then, here are the steps
1) Find the nearest square root value (root of 4 = 2)
2) Find the diff between 5 and 4 = 1
3) Then divide 1 by (twice of 2) = 0.25
So the value = 2+0.25 = 2.25

Example 2: If you want to find root of 12 then, here are the steps
1) Find the nearest square root value (root of 9 = 3)
2) Find the diff between 12 and 9 = 3
3) Then divide 3 by (twice of 3) = 0.5
So the value = 3+0.5 = 3.5

RE:
Any formula to Find Square Root?

to find square root,

for eg.to find square root of 9

9-1=8------------------>a
8-3=5------------------>b
5-5=0------------------>c

the given number should be subtracted with 1and then from the answer the next odd number of before should be subracted until zero comes and then count how many times u have did this process that will be the square root of the given number.here in eg 3 times the process has been done .so the square root of 9 is 3

You should really find a calculator with square root on it.
This one is an online calculator for square root which i use when I can not find objects that wonder off.lol
http://www.engineersupply.com/calc/square_root.htm
This one give you different theorums and methods
http://www.rism.com/Trig/square.htm
and here is another good site for methods

I had that just last semester so I feel your pain lol.

There are no "formula" to extract a square root, but you can do it by hand.
Check with your math teacher, the pocedure is a bit long to explain (similar to a long hand division, but using two digits at each stage).
Otherwise, use your calculator!
