Australia and Indonesia would have a heck of a time getting at each other. Need alot more naval
transport. Not only to get their troops moved but to maintain the supply lines to keep them fed, resupplied, etc.
Same with USA and China. US could invade China but would have an awful time with China's huge army,population, and land mass. But they do have the logistics, Navy and Air transport to get there. And could probably maintain a supply line thru Hawaii. China does not have the ability to get to the US with it's Military. The US Navy is 10 times the size of China's and they would never get across the water, nor would they be able to maintain a supply line for their troops. China's Armies are alot bigger but the US is way ahead in technology and firepower if they were to fight in a neutral area. It also takes an economy that is capable of supporting a war of that size, if it was to last any length of time. The US would have the advantage there also due to the fact they have alot more in the way of heavy industry that could switch quickly to a war footing. Most wars are won on the home front as much as the front lines in a large long war. In WWII the US built more than 1 transport ship a day, every day of the war. Germany couldn't sink ships as fast as the US built them and filled them

Indonesia has long history of invansion of Netherlands. They have skills, bravery and huge of army. but they have no intention and sources to invade another country. If Aussie attack, she will face other muslim countries. No mercy will give to Aussie.
Australia - The Sheriff to USA. Have intention to invade other countries in Asia. Big loud.
the aborigines will support Indonesian since they had suffer under the Australia regime.
China.
China have all sources but the communist ideology will stop them to conquer other countries.
USA will lost in just 3 months - oil consumption on military will end up domestic salvation, more army die young, more debt maybe after war, USA will bancrupt, mass of food need to be imported ( from China ), whole operation of military of USA have been known by China. No secrecy at all.
Russia will help Indonesia and China since Russia is more a friend for them. China has make a tie called 'Shanghai Coalition' with Russia same as NATO in the West.
Nuclear weapons - China also have many of them.
The best answer, dont make mess with them. Free your hand open gesture more diplomatic approach is required. Make them as friends not foe.

Australia. I see no evidence of Indonesia being a military force to reckon with.

China. We say they are a sleeping giant. I think that even with all the hype, China is still being underestimated in most peoples' minds. They are the new world power in waiting. A war with the current world power may be all that's needed to tip that scale.

There are no winners in any war in future. It is a lose-lose exercise in futility.

If Australia and Indonesia fight, USA won't keep quiet. It will jump aloha and fulfill its war-thirst and supply ammo and intelligence to Australia. The Indonesian clerics won't keep quiet and encourage suicide bombing of all white-populated countries, which means we will see more blasts in London. See, no war is an isolated phenonmenon any more.

Records show that after the first world, every war resulted in more civilian deaths than combatants. In fact as much as 90% of dead people were civilians who aren't interested in any one side. In Iraq war nearly 50,000 civilians have died in three years and it is so sad to see Americans switching off their TV from this truth and watching Nascar. They love to live in denial and detached from reality. What are those friends and family of dead civilians going to do? They will form new terrorist squads. Who can blame them? America needs to wake the f up and learn that their warmongers are profiteering from the wars and that they do not give a damm about human life.

There won't be any war between China and USA. USA does not wage direct wars with nuclear powers. They will try a "cold war deja vu" similar to Soviet Union. They already tried once with the Tiannamen square but got soundly beaten. The problem is, they do not understand the cultural and other factors that unite people of Asian or middle eastern oountries. They had assumed that they can apply the formula they applied on 2nd world war Germany and get what they want. They are wrong.

Diversity is essential for survival and progress, in every aspect of human life, not just genetics. It is needed in culture, civilizatin, food habits, music, movies, books, languages, thoughts, beliefs .... just imagine if you have to eat the same food, listen to the same music, read the same book throughout your life! How boring and no fuel for intellectual progress!

In future wars will be fought on economic and political grounds. Rarely on military grounds. Only cases where the outcome is very certain (where a very big power invades a very weak power) will there be wars.
