I've worked as a volunteer with male victims of domestic violence of almost 18 years. What you want to do is to give what you know to the police, preferably a female officer. What you know is second hand knowledge. He may be the abuser, they may be co-combatants, or he could be the victim, and what a person witnessed was a man defending himself. Granted, men who defend themselves are considered an abuser under the Violence Against Women Act, but that is why I go to female officers with such information. They are more likely to get a clear view of the situation and not let their emotions take over, as male officers do. Males officers tend to side with the woman and think that any man whose being batterers is a weanie. You don't want to get into the middle of it, because you could get hurt or worse.

Have you spoken to the Neighbors ? Will They back You up on this ? Is there any way that You can legally do a Video of them from a Public Place, that will hold up in a Court of Law ? Also, if You do get a Conviction, and the Abuser is Incarcerated, will the Woman have an adequate source of Income to Support Herself, and any Children that might be involved ? Perhaps that's why She hasn't reported the Abuse, because She could become Homeless ! If this is the Case, and You Report the Situation, would You then kick her out into the Street, or would You try to Work with Her any way that You can ? The Abuse has to stop, but please consider all other options, and do the right thing.

In confidence ask the girlfriend away from her boy friend if she denies it which she may there are ways of telling.
Bruising that she tries to explain away example a bruise on the face "oh I just ran into the door" or bruises on her arms.
Also a lot of broken furniture or broken items.
Is she jumpy? Does she act like a little girl frightened or watchful?
These are all signs of abuse. A lot of times when someone is being abused they will try to deny it because they think it will make the situation worse.
If you believe she is being abused and you can guess the times it is happening call the police.

Do not become involved yourself. Domestic disturbances are best left to the police. Call them, tell them the situation, and see what they say. Unfortunately, if the woman refuses to press charges and the rent is being paid on time, and no damage to your place, there may not be much you can do expect not to rent to them when the lease is up.

Talk with the police and turn his butt in. After they have to come out a few times, they may find enough reason to arrest him. Cops deal with those kind of idiots all day long. They can smell a wife beater a mile away.

Report the issue to a legitimate authority and DO NOT intervene yourself. Wife abuse is a crime and will not be tolerated under any sane law. Please go about it with the backing of an authority.

Please don't endanger yourself by going there yourself. Report the domestic disturbance and have the police involved. You will need to do this to protect the woman and her children, if they have any. If it continues, it can escelate, and get much worse. If you go there yourself you may get hurt. Don't go alone. Bring the police and let them handle it. You be careful and think wisely.

call the cops- and report them. If it continues I believe you can kick them out. If you have a chance to speak with the woman and give her a number for a battered women's shelter.
