I have a friend who's needy.
She's always fishing for complements and asking questions.
Example
Asking me 20 times if a outfit looks good. Does it look good? Does it look stupid? Are you sure? So you like it?

Constantly talking about the same subject.

Likes to point out that guys are attracted to her.
Did you see that guy talk to me? He bought me a drink.

Will only get a drink if I get one. Same thing goes for food

I have been patient and nice for the last 3 years. Except for a few times i avoided her. How can I still be friends with her without pulling out my hair.

If there's a girl that doesn't look great, she asks I don't look like that do I?
During clas one time she commented on how fat our prof. looked. She asked me if She looked like our prof. WTF! You're21 and the Prof is 50

This sounds familar. I had a friend just like this...wow might be the same girl...jk. Well, I told my friend that it bothered me when she did such and such. Ofcourse she thought I was trying to dis her and she didn't take it well at first but I pretty much made her understand. I told her the truth. It was hard to get her to see it but we did a lil role reversal. She saw for herself how annoying she was being. Were still friends and she is working on it. It all boils down to self esteem. She is not sure of herself. Build up the confidence and let her know that its ok to be an individual. Good luck.

tell her how you feel. she might have some disorder or anxiety problem. tell her this is not a good sign and that she should get it checked out. too much worry is not healthy.

set limits to how many questions she can ask you about what she wears, how she looks, etc.

if you are good friends and this is just a big annoyance, you will be able to accept her as she is.

all the best

be honest with her and tell her that being so needy is not good for your friendship. explain that sometimes you just want to hang out and not be bombarded with the same questions over and over. also explain that how she needs to be more independent and make her own choices once in awhile. you might have to remind her of this a few times but she will catch on

I've been friends with my "needy" friend for 12 years! The only thing she has done is become more needy... I used to think I could help her to become stronger, I used to think I could help her learn to love herself. I am the one who has learned, that you cannot change people. You can talk to her, which may, or may not work. You can accept her as she is, or, you can QUIT hanging out with her.... I'd almost like to recommend that.

when she does it ask her to quit asking so many questions she if she doesn't ask her again but if she still doesn't listen just totally ignore her for a few days and when she asks you why you have been ignoring her tell her it is because she hasn't listened to you any of the times you asked her to quit asking so many questions.
