Leg cramps in late stages of pregnancy are common but do you get them in the first trimester at all?

Pregnancy puts your body under a great strain and the body is harvested of various minerals etc to 'feed' the foetus.

Therefore, what happens is that you yourself suffer any deficiencies whilst your foetus gets all it needs. Hence, as you go through the early stages you are advised to take vitamins *specific* to pregnancy.

One cause of cramps is magnesium deficiency. Ask your doctor/pharmacist if you can take a vitamin tablet with magnesium to combat leg cramps.

As pregnancy progresses you may find that you start to get very tired. Often, people put this down to 'well of course I'm tired... I'm pregnant' when in fact they may be suffering iron deficiency. A simple blood test will show up iron deficiency, easily tackled by taking Vitamin B as prescribed by your Dr. Do *NOT* self prescribe Vitamin B just because you think you need it. It must be dosed correctly.

Anything is possible with pregnancy, just remember that. Lol.

I had a TON of leg cramps during my first trimester and I'm sure that blessing will return towards the end of my pregnancy. Oh the joys of motherhood.

My friend suffered leg cramps whilst pregnant, and she was told by somebody this may indicate a lack of salt in the bloodstream and was told to pour some salt on her hand and take one big lick before she goes to bed.

I think it worked.

But i'm no midwife so best ask her.

oh honey im so sorrie for you... if you have it anything like how i did its just the beginning.. my advice to you it to invest in a heating pad and i know this is going to be hard but stay away from spas... for me at 6 weeks i started cramping throughout my whole body it got worse and worse turned into server back pains and im 16 weeks still having them... not as often as then but i still get them... i would tell you early on to walk, try to do minimal excercise and eat right... those were the number one reason to my hurtful aches... i hope i helped
