My first clear memory is of Halloween night 1963, no photos were taken but I can describe to the last detail what I wore and where we went that night in my Chicago neighborhood, I was only 14 months old!!! (I was dressed as a Hobo, my hair hidden under a ragged cap, charcoal was smeared on my face, my clothing, a sweater and jeans, were cut to also look ragged and were far too big. I even had a stick to hang over my shoulder with a paper filled rag tied to it.) I was a very precocious child who could read at the age of 3 and entered a private school at age 4.

My first two clear memories are the first time I got my hair washed in the sink, and being sent to an adoption center... I'm not sure which came first, but I was about 6 months old when I was sent to the center.

...and for some reason, I can remember the hospital nursery room I was born in... a God-awful bright 70's yellow color with animals, rainbows, and clowns.

The earliest memory I can tell when happened exactly was in the winter when I was 2. My dad took me to kindergarten, broke an icicle off the roof and gave it to me. I used it as a sword and shouted "en garde" when I entered the room.

It was very scary- i had been playing with a little shell (which btw was way too small for a baby to have anyway). i was in bed and i was afraid i swallowed the shell. So i went into my parents' room all upset and because I couldn't really talk yet much, it took a while for them to understand what I was trying to tell them. Then I remember them calling the doctor and he said not to worry about it as long as it wasn't stuck in my throat. My mom says i was about 18 months i think.

I was two or three. My parents were divorced and my dad came to pick me up sometime in winter. I just remember my dad carrying me, the car being really cold and then the heater blasting and my dad showing me how I could see my breath. I still love when it gets cold enough to see m breath..
