The police should be able to check the computer that he was using. There are computer experts that can find things even if they were deleted because there is always a "ghost" of everything left on the computer. Perhaps his friend can remember which computer the boy was using so that they don't have to check all of the computers.
Does the PC Zone have any security cameras that might show something?

Look for notepad, perhaps the boy left an impression on the sheets below of an address and the name?

Give his pictures to the media and make announcement of missing, perhaps this may work.

Give the police the computer to go over they will give it to the fbi and they can track all the internet usage.
