There are two types of P/S hose one is the pressure hose which handles in some cases 2200PSI. This routs pressurized fluid to the gearbox.
The other is the return hose, which may handle 50PSI this routs the return fluid back to the pump or reservoir. sometimes there is a cooler in the system (like a little radiator).

its juat a hose. one side will be low pressure the other high. nothing more to it than that.

uhhh its not the gear box its called the rack, short for rack and pinion steering. and 2200psi is pushing it.
