My tarantula just split in half and the other half is living..is this normal?

They grow too big for their bodies so about four or five times during their lives they will shed them - quite normal.

If it is multing then that is normal. It should shed the whole outside of its body at least once a year. But it shouldn't just split in half. Your tarantula could be caught in mid mult which is very very dangerous for the tarantula. make sure it has plunty of water. and keep an eye on it for the next coulpe days. If you want to see what a multing tarantula looks like you should go to the " American tarantula Society" they have some good pics and info.

Yes, just like any other tarantula they will shed their outer exoskeleton. Make sure you have enough humidity and heat for them to shed properly.
