you think dying is bad due to your limited perspective. Imagine that dying is the best thing that could happen to you then I'd expect God to kill me out of love or mercy!

There are two options.
1. There is an after life-world. So, they say, God brings them there because God has created the mankind to be there with Him.
2. There is no after world. But you have to die all the same.

My preference is 1. Death is the passing from this world to the next. Dying is not a damnation but a natural process. So I take it as part of my nature. Death is not a penalty.

He doesn't want us to die. We have chosen to live in the material world where death is always present. We wanted to be separate enjoyers, to live as if there is no God. To fulfill that desire, the Lord has manifest the material world, a prison house made of the material energy. Here we can pretend there is no God. Our bodies are made of the material energy. The characteristic of the material energy is that it undergoes six changes -- birth, growth, reproduction, maintenance, dwindling and death. So it is not God's desire for us to die. Its our desire to live here in the world of birth and death.

Our eternal identity is spirit soul, the divine energy of the Lord. But now we are covered by two kinds of material bodies: the gross body of earth, water, fire, air, etc. and the subtle body of mind, intelligence and false ego. It is these external coverings that are born and die. We, the eternal spirit soul are never born and never die. When we realize that and live in that consciousness we never have to undergo this cycle of birth and death again. We fulfill the desire of the Lord for us to live eternally in perfect knowledge and bliss. This is the desire of the Lord. Check out the second chapter of the Bhagavad-gita for more into. If we lived forever, we would have no real point in doing good or bad things, just do what we like to whoever we like and expect to be immortal.

But cos life is short, we tend to value things such as grandparents/children and other family relatives, friends etc, and tend to good deeds... where as unfortunately there are people from a not so happy home, who think whats the point, and do all the bad things in the world.

Because in religeous views dying is a good thing. We were never meant to live the life we are living now, He meant for as to stay with Him in heaven. In religous veiws life is just a long test. A test whether you have regained your honor and love and need to go to heaven or you have proved your self unworthy of the honor.

Because he's God and he makes the decisions in the end, and death isn't really death if you are a christian, after your body dies your spirit goes on to a new "life" we know as heaven. Here we endure pain in this life, in the life here after there is no pain and that life is forever. It's a test.

Death is not the opposite of life. Birth is. Both birth and death are life experiences.

Why do we celebrate one, and fear the other? They're both life just doing it's thing.

Are you a spiritual being having a human experience, or a human having a spiritual experience.

God doesn't want us to die, He wants us to live with Him in heaven, but He also wants us to choose that for ourselves, which is why we have to live here on earth - to learn humility, to learn right from wrong, and to learn to love what is righteous.
