On a practical level, however, if a woman feels that the amount of bleeding is excessive or heavier than her normal periods, she should discuss this with her doctor. An increase of two or more tampons or pads per day or an increase in duration of 3 or more days is significant

Irregular bleeding doesn't necisarily it's cervical cancer, it is a symptom, there are quite a few other things that can cause irregular bleeding so don't start stressing yet. Go to your dr soon, , ask to be refered to a gynocologist,. Could be pregnancy, hormonal imbalance, result of weight loss or gain; heavy exercise; stress; certain illness's; or certain medications.

Get a pap smear test done, it's advisable. Don't take a risk by ignoring it. If you test negative, take herbal treatment to regularise your periods.
