What difference does it make whether the seat is up or down? It's never bothered me you see, my husband leaves it up sometimes, but it's no big deal? Are you afraid your make-up will fall down there or you may lose something down there. This obsession is crazy.

I totally agree, I think its ridiculous how some chicks go on about toilet seats and squeezing the toothpaste from the end not the middle, its so stupid surely they are intelligent enough to just put the toilet seat down themselves and not have a hissy fit over it? or re- squeeze the toothpaste so it is to their satisfaction? It's naggy women like this who give us laid back types a bad name!! come on girls sort it out?

There are many reasons for leaving it down and most involve safety. Often, pets wander into the bathroom (take it from there). Also, young children may go in there in the dark, and not realizing the seat is up, fall in. It's happened! It is also a bit more aesthetic, to be honest. However, if you don't care one way or the other, then I guess it works at your house.

It is not an obsession, it just looks more orderly, and not like a gas station toilet,,

if it does not bother you, great,, no problem,

I do mind. I hate my toilet to be open and as the seat is up it is. it is not an obsession, I just don't want the interior of my toilet to be the first thing to see for people who enter my bathroom.
that's all.
I heard that leaving the toilet desk up is wrong with feng-shui rules, but I don't know whether to belive it or not.
I have to admit it would be fair enough for the guys to leave it up for us to put down, as they always have to lift it up;)

Revenge is a sweet thang! ;)

Actually, guys should pee sitting down too.

That way there is no problem hitting the target and avoids leaving a mess on the seat (or floor).

Seat should always stay down.

No I'm afraid of trying to go in the middle of the night without the lights on and falling in.

Im with you. My little boy pees on the seat & poos on the floor. he used to throw poo out of his cot from his nappy. i'm past caring if it's up or down. It's never been a problem to me. But then i've never really thought about it in depth.

Disclaimer-contrary to the above, we ARE a decent family lol x
