In astral projection the conscious mind leaves the physical body and moves into the astral body. The astral body is one of our subtle bodies.
Some people can astral project naturally. Others are afraid to leave the physical body and never are able to astral project. An alternative approach is remote viewing.
In astral projection you remain attached to your physical body by a silver "umbilical type" cord. Some people see the cord and others do not.
You are aware of things you encounter along the way while out of your body.
To astral project, as with all out-of-body experiences - one must feel totally relaxed, clothing fitting comfortable, reclining is best. Often a comforter is best over the body as the physical body sometimes gets cold when you travel out.

hearing is good, believing is tough and should be, but practicing is work of Mr. NEO. The punchline is, If u believe in something, don't just sit, go & prove it 4 ur self. If u don't believe, or don't wanna prove, or can't prove it; Feel relaxed, as there r hundreds of such things in our life.

I've heard what u have, at times i wanna believe, but its not my right 2 question or doubt it without really proving opposite. having said that, i must not go 2 road side sadhus/ so called yogis or any stuff of that kind 2 convince me either of the sides.
Mostly people have their own convictions, then they go 2 prove their own convictions by taking help of some scriptures or persons, it's like proving a theorem.!

It is a superstitious belief. No one can handle or control the soul. It is completely under the control the Creator, The Almighty, The Cherisher, Sustainer of The Worlds that is Allah.
If any one claims that he does that he is lying. He may be a magician, he makes things appear so but he never makes things happen so.
Do dont belive the words of magician. It is a kind of mesmerizing people.

You must have heard of near death experiences as well, when patients die and are revived after a few minutes, long after they were termed clinically dead. In those short moments we open up ourselves to a higher existence and take root in our higher self, so really you don’t have to step out of your body to have the experience of the divine as all the greatest truths lie within your own heart.

Always "that somebody" may be a third-person whom you dont know directly.Its the alertness of the mind travelling outside the body.It happens always.when you attend to something important your mind is on that and you are not body concious for that moment of time.So out of ignorance someone must have told someother that he or she have come out of their body and again came back.One can experience it .Sit in silent meditation and contemplate on anything one can understand why somebody has said that out of ignorance.

ive heard about those too... people moving out of their physical bodies. I think its some form of praise in India or some other country to do so...
