and why do people look nothing like their avatars?

there is not really much choice. I dont think there are any "old" avatars. they all end up looking pretty much the same

Because Yahoo!Answers has just started, and probably in the future they will add the option of older avatars. As for the second question, people try to make an avatar that reflects their emotions and taste at that moment, the point is not to make a copy of your looks.

Because that's what most people like, to look young. So, just to make us happy, they don't make avatars of old people. And people look nothing like their avatars maybe because they got no other choice, or they wanted to kid themselves that they look really hot, even in just the avatar, or they just like to look different, what they wanted their face to be but isn't.

well Im not old nor am I young Im 32, but Ive been told actually that my avatar looks A LOT like me ,LOL!!
as far as why do all the avatars look young?? IM not sure but I noticed that they put a plus size section up here now so they're starting to expand anyways

They have recently introduced larger size avatars. Maybe the next thing will be older avatars.

Because people do not actually look like cartoons. You'll have to ask Yahoo about the age part.

usally people older than 18 have a 360 pg were they can have a picture of anything they want so their is no need for old ones. and your right i dont look like my avitar i look hotter! just kidding
