Do a search for the human resources for whatever car makers you most strongly desire to work for, and call and ask, what do they look for in applicants? What schools do tey recomend. Decades ago FORD Motors had scouts scanning automotive classes seeking good canidates and in time they guided lucky students to the university level. Off the Top of my Head I would suggest any University within Fifty Miles of Detroit. And I do know that either UCLA or University of Southern Cal have great courses since they are near the aeroscpace industry, oh and I cannot slight the University of Texas, hey pride themelves on their engineering courses. Peace.

It depends where you want to study. If you are looking at studying in India, you would have to study engineering first with a major in mechanics. Once you have graduated in your engineering degree you need to apply to NID(National Institute of Design) which is in Ahmadabad in the state of Gujarat. I believe there is an entrance exam to gain admission into this institute.
