Who makes up what you deserve? It's subjective. And, objectively speaking, maybe I think you're getting exactly what you deserve.

Entropy mainly. The universe tends towards chaos and waste. Any effort at organization comes at the price of less organization somewhere else. Friction is a good example, as it prevents us from achieving 100% efficiency at anything.

On a more human level, not only do we get less than we deserve, but we also always feel like we deserve more than we get. I suppose that if it were any other way, we'd be satisfied with what we have, rather than striving to better ourselves, so in a way, there are benefits.

You don't. If you feel that way, then you have an over-inflated sense of what the world owes you. (It owes you nothing, BTW.)

And if you think people always get less than what they deserve, then economics is a zero-sum or negative-sum game, and all humans should be getting poorer over time, and worse off than the previous generation.

Consider this little scenario of commerce. I've made something that you want, say, a pizza. You have some thing that I want called dollars. We agree to a trade, I give you the pizza I made for some certain amount of dollars that you obtained by trading your labor for them. The result is that you valued the pizza more than the amount of dollars you paid for it, and I valued that same amount of dollars more than the pizza I had made. So BOTH of us traded something we had for something we wanted more, and as a result we both came out ahead. We are both more wealthy as a result of the trade because we both gained from it. This is what makes capitalism--commerce--a positive-sum game. Wealth is created with every voluntary transaction, and over time through our labor and efforts we gradually become better off as a whole.

Thus, it could be argued that in the end, we all actually get more than what we "deserve".

I never get less than what I deserve because I won't accept less that what I deserve. People will only give you what you ask of them. I make it a point to demand and expect the best.

I don't think you do. I am a lazy, ungrateful person who receives much more than he deserves. Im not being sarcastic. There are many more people in this world who work much harder and receive ALOT less than I do. It is very sad and hopefully I can do something about that.

Maybe you don't deserve what you think you deserve.
Maybe you get what you actually really deserve.

Deserve depends on the person himself/herself but getting something depends on others.

You don't. Sometimes you get more than you deserve. When it goes against you, it's called bad luck. When it goes for you, it's called good luck or grace.
