I'm going to travel europe for a couple months next year and was wondering if it is cheaper to just buy a car or motorbike to travel on instead of using a train? Any thoughts. Any driving laws that prohibit me driving a bike or car over there? I wanna make my way east from london to moscow.

I would take a train

1. Trains are relatively cheap (especially if you use some kind of Europass) and the railroad network is well-developed in Europe.

2. You have to buy a good car to make sure it won't break down somewhere in the middle of Belarus marshes.
3. Are you going back too, or finish in Moscow? If you finish in Moscow, then what are you going to do with the car once in Moscow? Sell it? You'll have to pay steep custom duties, since you owned the car for less than a year. Driving in Russia is not a very pleasant experience (although hopefully the days of rampant car-jacking are over).

If you're returning back, why don't you try to rent or lease a car?

train should be the cheapest of all but it would be nice not to be restricted by the tracks.
the next cheapest would be the motorbike but if it rains, you will get wet.

It all depends on how you weigh convenience and price

Gas is more expensive in Europe then the US
