i doing a project on the civil right act of 1865..and i need to find some primary sources..like speeches, letters or sumthing like that hopefully someone can anwer my question..thakk you

Look at Jones v. Mayer Co. (a Supreme Court case from 1968).

The footnotes from sections where they discuess the 1866 act (there was no Civil Rights Act of 1865) have some quotes, explanations, and references that may point you in the right direction.
