This question is for people in early stages of pregnancy. Can you tell me when you suffer with the stomach twinges and slight pain. I get up in the morning and it starts with twinges in my back just below the rib cage and then the odd twinge in the stomach and my heartburn is getting more frequent!! Is this normal particularly the back pain? I also get lower backache it feels really stiff and its making me want to stand up really straight, im usually quite hunch shouldered.

Yes, the twinges are very, very normal. You wanting to stand straight has nothing to do with gravity, since I believe you're in an EARLY stage of your pregnancy (?), but it's just your body searching for a more comfortable position. The twinges though, are caused by the pregnancy hormones.... They are busy preparing your body for the birth (already) and is making all of the muscle-tissue softer. This is necessary when the baby comes out (you want to come out of this in ONE piece).
I hope this is an answer that suits your question.

Twinging, back pain, heartburn, weight gain are all normal. Infact, lots of uncomfortable things are completely normal when you're pregnant.
And I personally, gained 15 lbs off the bat, before my 3rd month in pregnancy, haven't gained much more since then and I'm @ about 6 months. Just keep up with it and be sure to talk to your Dr if you realize that you're gaining a weekly amount equivalent to over 40 lbs (in the end), or so. Good luck.

It's normal to have slight twinges throughout pregnancy. Your body is changing everyday and your muscles are adapting.
Try not to worry, if you are concerned speak to whoever is keeping an eye out for you at your next antenatal appointment.
Congratulations on your pregnancy and Good Luck!!

Poor baby! Try eating smaller amounts of nourishing food throughout the day instead of large meals. Refrain from high acid food and drink and caffeinated beverages or spicey foods. Drink loads of fluids. Put a small pillow under your tummy to take the pressure off of your spine when youre laying on your side. Its best to lay on your left side for better circulation. Hormones are in high gear and contribute to all kinds of changes in your body each person effected differently. Hope that helps. Get more tips from your OB/GYN
Important NOTE: Also in case no one else adds...that at about 6-8 weeks gestation ectopic pregnancies
would contribute to discomfort this early and is very serious. Please see your doctor immediately to rule out an ectopic (pregnancy in the fallopian tube instead of the uterus)

yes quite normal to have twinges as to the posture thing it is because your centre of gravity has shifted due to the extra weight around your middle

oh honey everything hurts while your pregnant. your center of gravity has shifted so just wait it gets so much more fun! I'm 39 weeks pregnant and i walk into everything and i drop everything and i had a problem with my siatic nerve! THAT HURT!! But eventually when you finally do get used to the aches and pains then you get the joys of going through labor! Yey! You'll be fine. Just drink plenty of water and rest. Good luck! :-)

I am 5 months pregnant now...but since my 6th week I have had lower back pains and front right and left groin pains. They call is round ligament pains. Just from the extra pressure. Its not your baby thats hurting you, its your growing uterus.
