This is an absolutely OUTSTANDING question:

Here's a list of seven place that have taken my breath away:

1. The Temple Complex at Luxor/Karnak in Egypt.
The French archeologist J. F. Champoleon wrote in his diary that this place seemed as though built for a race of giants. He was right. This place is designed to overwhelm visitors; It will blow your mind away. Nothing like it anywhere.

2. Westminster Abbey in London.
This is not only one of the most beautiful buildings (inside), but there are so many famous people buried here, if you're into history, you'll want to stay there all day and drink in the atmosphere.

3. Vermont (in the Autumn).
The writer Anthony Trollope's sourpuss of a mother (who was never impressed by anything) said of a Vermont autumn that, "the whole place goes to glory." She was right. It's a must see.

4. Mt Kilimanjaro/Ngorongoro Nature Preserve in Tanzania.
I took a three week walking tour of Tanzania some time ago, and I treasure it as one of the greatest experiences of my life. The Ngorongoro Preserve is so lush and beautiful. It's what Eden must have looked like. And going to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro is a once in a lifetime opportunity that makes you feel almost god-like in your ability to see the entire African savanna stretched out before you as you stand at the summit of the highest peak on the continent. Not many people know about this part of Africa. While walking one day, our progress was halted by a stampeding migration of zebra that lasted for two solid hours. A driving flood of living nature that kicked up so much dust, they blotted out the sun. Absolutely breathtaking. (Do this when you're young; it takes stamina).

5. The fjords of Norway.
For sheer beauty of nature, there is only one place on earth more majestic than Norway (see recommendation seven). The best time to see Norway is in the Summer. This is the land of the Midnight Sun. A sea-cruise of the North Sea in Summer is one of life's greatest pleasures. Nothing can compare to standing on the deck of a ship at 02:00 A.M. with the sun still blazing, sipping champagne, and looking at the most awesome landscapes you can imagine. Sheer bliss.

6. The Taj Mahal in Agra, India.
While the whole sub-continent offers many incredible attractions, there is something perfectly sublime about the Taj. Built by Shah Jahan for his beloved wife, it features absolutely perfect accoustics inside the dome. Best to go at the very end of the day, near closing time, (when the crowds have gone) and ask the guard to give the prayer call under the dome. The accoustics are so perfect, each note hovers for more than a minute. Years ago the Jazz floutist Paul Horn was so blown away by this, he sneaked in one night with his flute and a tape machine, and recorded an entire album under the dome. The album (if you're interested) is called "Inside." This place is not to be missed.

7. Alaska.
Ages ago, the writer Jack London said that if you are old, you should go to alaska at once, as it's the best thing you'll ever see; but that if you're young, you should avoid it, because if you go while young, it'll spoil you for everything else. Nothing will ever compare. You should always save the best for last. He was right. Everything about the state screams "over the top." It is the most sublime expression of nature's power and majesty. Save this one for when you're old and think you've seen everything. Then stand back and prepare to be amazed.

Hope this answer helps.

I don't really care what there is to see on earth...as long as I'm with those I love I just care to see the sun, the stars, the moon on the water and the world go into slumber and reawaken in the morning.

Okay, all the manmade and natural wonders listed above are okay, and I;ve seen them all (but the Great Wall) and I have to tell you that they are small beans.
Here's my list:

The face of your mother, putting you to bed for the night.
The face of your lover in rapture.
Your wife's face as she says "I do".
Your child's eyes "studying" you when you wake.
Your grandchildren running towards you across a yard.
Your great grandchildren as you tell them how life was when you were young.
The face of your god welcoming you into eternity.
