call them again.

try not to get too angry or give them attitude on the phone.

very politely explain to them the situation, tell them you have been in the middle east and couldn't view your finances etc...

they will probably answer something along the lines of "but its in the contract you signed and blah blah blah"

then what you do is say, "ok, i understand it may be in the contract or whatever but Im not talking about this from a LEGAL point of view, im trying to talk to you from a FAIRNESS point of view. I have been paying this for 2 years, I havnt missed a payment, now is there anything you can do, anything at all to help me in this situation.

it may not get you anywhere but its worth a try.

all these major companies are just greedy money sucking ****wits. In these situations, the only consolation I normally see is that the CEO's of these financial institutions will rot in hell when they die becoz they are very bad, selfish people!

Unfortunatly they CAN. Your contract to repair or fix your credit more than likely stated that you had to pay MONTHLY. They are not going to care how or why you stopped paying. This is one way how these companies make up the losses they get from the No-Intrest starter cards they give people. you could have been 1 day late and they legally could have jacked up your payment as outlined somewhere in your contract. At this point you can take out a home equity loan (if you own property), sell your car, or find another more reputable company and get enough credit to pay off your debts.

If your in the military borrow the money from your credit union and stay away from credit cards. Credit cards are also non secured credit so they cannot take anything from you but they will put it on your credit rating. Also call them and ask the payoff because you are going to switch to a different card. That usually will get their attention

Pay it off, then cut the card up into a millions pieces. Don't ever get a new card. Not ever.
