i have just purchased a polisher for my car which comes with three different coloured polishing sponges could anyone explain to me which sponge to use first , whether or not to use some kind of wetting agent when applying polish as i have used one dry with polish and it has started to break up , i really need some technical help and a full explanation of when and how to use these sponge heads, thank you .

you only need 2. normally white first with a compound called g3. that gets rid of orange peel, mild scratches, sun fade paint work, the second best sponge to use is normally black and it will be bobbled texture really soft sponge. use g10 fine grade polish. that gives you a high glace shine on your car, then give it a coat of wax

first things first what do you mean three different colors, colors dont change things its the textures that make them different. it also matters what kind of polish your using with them. sponges are used mainly with wax. you should use a cotton buffer wheel for compounds. either way you should apply your poplishing agent to the car then buff it out. i hope this helps you.

dude, just have a mess around and see which ones work best,
just don't wash your car with a sponge without getting the dirt off first thats all.

Dont you have a cloth or 'lambswool' cover??? this normally ties over the foam pads. Go back to where you bought it and check whats in other kits. OR phone the maker/distributor, number should be on a leaflet or on the box. What is the makers name??
