You could never have been able to express the love that you feel for that person unless you have already experienced it within yourself. So, if you do not know how to love, respect and honor yourself (be true to yourself) you are incapable of doing that for another person...basically, you have no instructions to go by.

If, indeed you know this, then you make an effort to set them free in your mind as well. If you really love that person then, ultimately, you want for them to be happy and, their happiness has nothing to do with you. If you have true love it is selfless. This means that, though you feel loss, you can be happy knowing that, you have given that person the most important gift of all... respect and freedom...regardless of the circumstances.

So, how do you move on? Stay active, stay healthy and, remember that your understanding of love comes from the love and respect you have for yourself. However, when expressing it, it pours out of you and is never meant to serve you but, rather to admonish, uplift and respect others... and, indirectly this benefits you as well. Read some Ethics too, this may help.

You just do. I've been moving on for 5 months now....same thing happened to me. You just have to pick up and keep going, be around friends and family, do nice things for yourself, and the occasional "tear in the beer" doesn't hurt either. It does, and will get better. Best wishes.

Just take it one day at a time. You will see that some days are harder than others but each day gets easier. Try and keep your self as busy as you can be. Remember, time heals all wounds.

There's not much you can do in the beginning but let life move on for you. Don't worry you'll catch up! Allow yourself time to grieve!

I work harder and do better so that someday they can look back when I have long forgotten about them, and wish they never lost me. But then of course, it is too late.
