In order for good to exist, there must be evil. Otherwise, it would be impossible to distinguish one from the other. Everything in life must be balanced and there are a variety of "scales" to assure this balance.
An Ouija board is one of those "scales".
Every human being has a sub-conscience and each level is different from one person to the other. Some have an uncanny ability to be more sensitive to what is commonly known as the "paranormal", while others just don't pick up these so called "signals".
As a result, Ouija boards can be harmless, or they can be very dangerous, depending on the sensitivity of those whose hands rest on the planchett.
What may constitute "dangerous" is the unknown. As a majority, most of us do not have a clue if they are more susceptible to these "sixth sense" signals or not. That is until they play around with the various forms of Occult materials such as the Ouija board.
Most of those who play with these are kids, and young adults whose minds are so open that the chances of evil being contacted is higher than for those of us who are older as we tend to have to much "life" for the entities to filter out.
Personally, I have seen Ouija boards that were simply pieces of wood and plastic and other times where very real and powerful vibrations come through.
Should you do some reading on the paranormal and occult you may come across many stories often supported with facts of those who play around with Ouija boards who are forever changed often with very bad results.
There are some things that should just be left alone, or left to those who feel that they are invincable against powers that are beyond human imagination.
There is an old saying, " If you play with fire, eventually, you will get burnt"
Leave the damn thing alone.

the Ouija board is just that ... a board
it has even been sold as a child's game
people cant conjure up spirit with it let alone demons or anything else .... this isn't to say that in the presence of a medium that spirit cannot use it as a tool to communicate
but for people who are not sure what they are doing , this is where it becomes dangerous ... they aren't opening to anything evil but they can and often do open to their own fears
it has been know that we can create energy if our mind believes it enough ( this has been tried and tested )
and it is this i feel happens with the boards
people get scared , are expecting the worst , and through their own fears manifest what seems to be an evil or nasty entity
better to be safe than sorry though and leave the boards alone , unless in the presence of a medium or someone who knows what they are doing , and everyone present should be in a good frame of mind without any fear

In my opinion to keep it short, you know that the board acts as a ways of communication with the ghost/spirit/demon. ....etc. So if there is a spirit and it is communicating then it must be near to you so that it may generate enough energy to move the glass or pointer. The danger came is you do not know if the spirit that is standing next to you while you play the game is a friendly one or one that can kick ***. So from my point of view unless you are willing to risk being choked or thrown across the room as some of us had experienced then it is wise not to attempt to play around with the board.
I am sure you have read some of the things that the rest had experienced. For me the reason I don't play it anymore is that if I can see it standing beside me why do I still need to use the board. I should just ask the spirit the question .And trust me these dead beings aren't a pretty sight.

There was a movie starring Michael Keaton a year or 2 ago that ended with a written statement that said something like: Of the thousands of ghostly contacts described by witnesses, approximately 20% are actively hostile. The Ouija board can make contact with spirits possible. Years ago, friends and I seemed to make contact. One of those contacts was angry and frightening. If some people don't, or can't, use it to get contact, they may be the lucky ones. Be cautious; ghosts can lie and be manipulative just like the living. Look up sites where people discuss their experiences with spirits. I did that last Halloween for fun, and was amazed at how many desperate, frightened people are telling their stories online. Now I try not to think about it.

The Ouija Board is just a game. Hell, I once made a really nice board and pointer for someone and did alot of careful work to hand paint it. They're harmless. The real hazard is when people think they're dangerous. I had a relative who once told me a story about how she and a friend contacted a spirit that actually gave them specifics about the future, and that there was always a smell of rotten eggs when they used the board. Then one day it revealed itself to be the devil. She took it out back and burned it. This was a frightening story, but this same woman once told me that a woman could get pregnant from a kiss.

I would advise you not to, or if you do wish to attempt it, treat it with respect. You are dabbling and interfering with things that are beyond your comprehension. The possible consequences if you botch this up include having a spirit haunting the place you performed the ceremony, but that is still somewhat mild. At the worst, one of the participants could end up being possessed.

The ouija board is not a game, despite the innocuous name. If you consider it as just that, then it would be best for you not to fiddle around with it until you learn proper respect for what you are about to do.

Ouija boards are not safe. Do not mess with them. In our Western culture there is a lack of respect or understanding of spiritual things. In other countries, it's understood that there are evil and foul spirits out there.
The reason that it's dangerous is that you are consenting to have evil spirits involved in your life. Evil spirits can cause mental illness, sickness, suicide, and spiritual death. It's the spiritual equivalent of calling a random person on the phone and asking them to come over to your house. You don't know who this person is. When you invoke spirits, don't be ignorant of what the spirit is. Even Witches, and Mystics understand this. If you are a Christian, you should have nothing to do with Astrology, Palm Reading, Future Predictions other than Scriptural, and least of all Occult practices, or the ouija board.

Ouija boards are not safe. They open your mind in ways it should not be opened. I've heard that people say that it's something going on in your subconscious mind that makes the pointer move, but I strongly disagree. I don't know why they won't work for some people, but it worked just fine for me and I had an experience that I wish to never repeat. It told me things and told me to do things that would never have been in my subconscious and it moved with just me using it.
