A zionist can be any religion. Zionist believe that the Jews should have a homeland. This idea includes many Christians. And incidentally, not all Jews believe this. Some even resent the notion that the Jews should have a homeland until the Lord comes to earth, because they don't recognize (obviously) that Jesus came to save them.
An Israeli can also be a different religion. There are Palestinians, Armenians, as well as others living in Israel. It just means you are a citizen of Israel.
And a Jew doesn't have to be either a zionist or an Israeli.
Can be confusing I know.
Muslims hate the zionists because they feel the land was stolen from the Palestinians, and this place is also considered holy to Muslims--Jerusalem.

A zionist is obsession over Israel, typically used to describe (especially early) secular Israeli Jews whose whole lives were about the country of Israel. Being Zionistic is more appropriate to describe supporting the country or state of Israel, whether you live there or not, Jew or gentile. An Israeli is someone who lives in Israel, including Muslims, Druze, etc. Jews are those of the Jewish people, a sort of genticly and conversion-able to join religion/nationality.

The muslims are perhaps the wrong term. While many say the Koran says bad things about Jews, even religious muslims often don't hate them and could be quite friendly with Jews. History does contain mistreatment of Jews by Muslims but the they did much less than the Christians. Only recently is there strife with the Arabs, largely but not entirely composed of Muslims. The object is technically over the Israeli state, backed up by Islamic religious claims but are some what odd because the rest of the Muslim world is not at war with Israel over it. The claims are quite false because the Jews had it before and after (now) the Muslims so what can they say, if they bring up the past then the Jews could too? Much of the hate is propiganda and the world now faces (alas far too late) a generation or two late of radicalized with hate, filled Arabs who senselessly hate Israel.
