It's just a metaphor, one that shows extremes. Just like saying "That is one bad-as s car" when you mean it's really good. It's not a scale of 0-10 where cool is 0 and hot is a 10. Both just show an extreme, meaning it's far from being in the middle or average.

hahah nice question. that's slang for you. you're mixing slang and textbook definition by saying cool is opposite hot and "cool" is the opposite of "hot". lol i don't know if that made any sense at all.

Two seconds from now it will be something else. The whole point of teen communication is to leave somebody out. (So that you can converse with her cohorts about "radical ideas" or just bug your parents And feel superior doing it. It's OK.
