If the tiny piece of glass were to enter a vein directly, then the glass could be carried to your heart and potentially cause major damage. More likely it that it would cause a block in a vein and a clot (thrombosis) would form. Either way it would be serious.

Good question buddy!! You really made me think and I've come up with this: it won't reach your heart coz it'll tear your vein (because a small peice of glass is extremely sharp) somewhere along it's route to your heart and cause internal bleeding and will be removed by your macrophages, the antibodies or to put in in simple, english, it won't reach your heart.

Glass particle of any size will not travel far in a vein.
Small glass pieces in the skin will eventually & naturally rise to the skin's surface given a little time and if they do not become infected.

Nice question. But I don't think the small pieces of glass can't possibly enter the vains to the heart. But I like what you think.

Seems like it would cut the vein as it was traveling, but maybe not. I've learned that nothing is impossible.

I don't think so. I think it's a myth. Now a hook worm can by just walking on the beach barefoot. The it becomes a parasite in your body. You won't notice it though. It doesn't eat much.

I don't think so, but it sounds like a great plot for a horror - like you know it's in your body but you don't know where - what would you do? It won't show up on x-rays ... hmmm
Okay, I'm tired and making stuff up. Hope you don't give me bad dreams!!!
