In my opinion, you shouldn't have your child's ears pierced until they are old enough to ask for them and clean/care for the piercings themself.
When a baby's ears are pierced, the holes are often off-center as they grow.

it's never SAFE to pierce a baby's ear. A piercing gun CANNOT be properly sterilized so it's likely introducing bacteria/blood/skin/etc from another person if it's done at the mall. A single use or hospital use gun is a 'better' choice but still its a blunt force pressure basically stapling the jewelry into the childs ear. The possibilites of the little one pulling the jewelry and damaging the lobes or causing tearing/infection are rather high. Also as the little one gets older the ear is going to grow and change shape slightly so what once was a center dead on piercing could end up severly out of place. Best to wait till the kid can ask for it and take care of it on his/her own and be done by a professional piercer who has experience doing these procedures not a girl at the mall who is trained for a few hours

I wouldn't have a babys ears pierced because sometimes babys can harm their ear lobe because babys like to pull on things. What would stop them from pulling their own earring out of their ear? This happened to my cousin so I would say don't pierce your babys ears.

Why don't you wait until your child is old enough to decide for him/herself if he/she wants his/her ear(s) pierced? Shouldn't it be your child's decision to make with your permission? Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend piercing a baby's ear or ears, or anything else on its body for that matter.

IF YOU WANT TO PIERCE HER EAR PLEASE DO IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I PIERCED MY OLDEST DAUGHTERS EARS WHEN SHE WAS 10 MONTHS OLD. I HAD TO HOLD HER DOWN. I HATED IT. IT FELT LIKE I HAD ABUSED HER. WHEN I HAD MY SECOND DAUGHTER AS SOON AS SHE GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL MY MOTHER IN LAW HAD A PIERCING GUN AND SHE PIERCED IT. SHE HARDLY CRIED AT ALL. SO THE EARLIER THE BETTER.

Personally, I really hate mothers who do this to their children. Did the baby ASK you to do that? What gives you the right to scar that child for life without permission. That is nothing more than saying you own that new spirit and you can do anything you want to it because it's helpless to defend itself and you think it's cute. That's pure selfishness and ego driven conformity.
Good luck when the child comes of age to understand that their mother is the one who drew first blood. Your sick!
