it can be done. in fact many cars coming from the factory these days are automatics with turbos..even Porsche has a 911 turbo in
an automatic tranny!
anyhow, you need a decent turbo..there are many kinds and brands. choose the one that has the best reputation with your car..for instance, Garrett T3-T4 ballbearing turbos are probably the best on the mkt right now..versus the other ones, this one spins faster and has no turbo lag..so you don't have to wait to catch up before the turbo is engaged.
your car usually has to be driven at a certain rpm before the turbo sets in.
you will need alot of parts, intercooler, piping, gauges, apexi controller, new exhaust, 3' inch piping..etc.
it'll cost you around $3000 to $5000 depending on what kind of brand you want and what kind of car you have.

Yep, you could outfit any engine with something like that. It has nothing to with the type of transmission. the turbo, or supercharger works on the principle of jamming more O2 into the engine for more bang. The combustion engine is really just a method of harnessing the power of multiple explosions. (combustion) A turbo just makes the explosions...uumm. a little more intense. Then there's always nitrous... but don't bother. This ain't Fast and The Furious,
I'm not trying to be condescending. I'm just trying to make it easy.

Certainly. Buick Grand Nationals almost always had an automatic behind a turbo V6, for example. Just what parts you would need depends on your car.

It makes no difference if the car is automatic or Manual(stickshift). You may need to decompress the engine, put a tougher set of pistons, conrods, crankshaft and you will have to make sure the engine has a oil feed to the turbo. You'd be better off getting a turbo engine actually.

A turbo has nothing to do with your Automatic Transmission so why not. However do to the increase in power your engine develops and your Trasmission is weak that is another story all together. Meanig buying runners can you handle to run 50miles non stop at full speed.
Take care!

Waste of money to get the rapid for the sound for the reason which you will possibly be spending some hundred funds on something basically elegance at in elementary terms 4-5 psi. Now it does sound sturdy yet once you are going to do it you may do it stunning. improve the engine, spend the money so as that somewhat of sounding sturdy you will have the skill to accomplish sturdy devoid of the possibility of thoroughly destroying your engine, think of a balloon with too lots air being compelled into it. that would desire to be your engine over the years.

yes you can. they put them on sticks because turbos have lag time and with a stick you can rev. it up before you clutch it. but automatics work just as well if you put a stall convertor in it it helps to get your rpm's up in the turbos range.
