If money wasn't an issue I would certainly choose the Ipod. Here's why:
All sorts of neat gadhets that the ipod has. For instance you can attach all of the following: an fm radio, voice recorder, remote control, exteranal battery pack, special boomboxes, special speakers and lots lots more.
Sound quality is awesome.
Most other MP3 players, you need to send the sound information to speakers via the headphone jack. That method of sending the information is not the beast for quality. You know that data connection on the ipod? It is a more effective method of sending the audio information and so the sound sounds better. Thats why you see so many speakers that are made specifically for the ipod data connector
If money was an issue, as it is for me, I would choose the San disk e250, especialy since it is only 189 dollars. It has built in 2gb memory, but you can expand the memory! What other Mp3 player does this?
In addition, it does the video feature which you don't get with the ipod unless you spend 300 dollars.
It also has a built in voice recorder and FM radio.
Its also a popular enough brand you get some acceories with it.

Whil eIPOD is the most popular (and has the most 'other stuf' you can buy seperately), I'd recommend the Sansa mp3 player. Awesome battery life, easy to use, plays singles as well as playlists,and can be found for a decent price (even cheaper on sale) at places like Officemax, Compusa, or Officedepot. But no matter what brand or style of mp3 player you get, the important thing is it's memory capacity.

which ever u like the best...at first i said i would never get an ipod and now i dont let go of it...lol...but i have to say there are a lot of nicer looking mp3 players out there...whether they are good machines or not is a diff story...my ipod has lasted a few yrs so id say go for that...(i dont have the video, just the ipod color) i dont think they sell the one i have anymore...

the ipod is the most tecnicly advanced but if you are looking for something cheaper go with a creative mp3 player
