Robin Hood and Captain Blood with Errol Flynn (great legs
and what a smile!)
The Scarlet Pimpernel with Leslie Howard
Any movie with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers
The Thin Man movies
Charlie Chan movies (even tho they are so blatantly racist now)
Cary Grant movies the comedies like Bringing Up Baby, Holiday and The Philedelphia Story
Bing Crosby Bob Hope Road movies
Any Laurel and Hardy movie
My Man Godfrey
It Happened One Night
as you can see, I love the old black and white movies
the acting was so much better, great scripts and witty lines.
Just good stories without special effects or a lot of gore.

Well... I love old movies. My favorite is probably "Gone With the Wind", which I've watched about 50 times. Others I like: "The Misfits" with Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable & Montgomery Clift; "Hatari" and "The Quiet Man", the only two John Wayne movies I actually like; "Dial M for Murder", "Singing in the Rain"....there are lots of them!! And Don Knotts--remember his "Mr. Limpet" movie, where he was the animated fish? So funny! Now you'll have me going to Netflix to add all these to my queue!

Casablanca, of course. Also, On the Waterfront--great Brando performance. Hitchcock scored with The 39 Steps...his first true masterpiece. Rififi--a film noir shot in France--is shockingly good considering the lame-o period it was made in (the 50s). Night of the Living Dead brought the 60s to a close, and rightly so; it ushered in a new level of film-making, especially in the horror genre.
