I heard someone describe themselves as a metrosexual on tv the other day. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ? Have i been living under a rock or what?

Basically its a term used by straight men that act somewhat gay. They are "in touch" with their feminine side and love going shopping for the latest fashions, getting manicures, spending 2 bloody hours in the bathroom before going out. You didn't see this on Australian Idol did you, that tripper with all his makeup :) God he made me laugh he was so gay and in denial!

I dont agree with the others....in fact a Metrosexual is just a staright guy who is up-to-date with fashion, style etc. Generally guys do their own thing or dont care about what others are wearing, but a metrosexual is just the opposite.
No gay, habits, no closet gayness, just someone thats up to staying with the times.
Not my style, but nothing wrong with it

a metrosexual is someone that want perfection... always nice clothes, nice hair style, nice way of talking... altough, in the VIP world these things are very important for maintaining their popularity, in time these worryes can become an obsession wich is not good. a metrosexual is really obsessed about these things...

a metrosexual is a straight person who is constantly worried about their appearance. they only want to wear nice clothes and look good. most preppies are like that.

It's a guy that does most of the girly things !Like manicures and pedicures,highlights in the hair,getting waxed,plucking eye brows,etc.. A guy who is too pretty for me is what it is ! Guys need to look like guys !

it's just bunch of BS... I'm not homophobic but i think the whole world and media is turning MEN into gay.
you look at what supposed to be MEN"S magazines... what do they offer? portraits of ideal 'men'? being metrosexual...
clean, fancy clothing, full range of cologne for weekends and weekdays, matching shoes and belt, foundation, make up, even PURSES with straps, Manicure pedicure, fashion do's and don'ts magazines, even salon for MeN providing hairstyle, wax, and all these girlie stuff that my WIFE would lavish herself with.
what's happening to big... hairy... smelly... beast looking MEN sitting on the couch drinking beer?
