well, you and i aren't that stupid, kiddo. The initial purpose of cable (pay) tv was so we wouldn't have to watch commercials. it turned out to be financially unfeasable to do that for the cable networks, so now you pay for the privilege of watching commercials. But you also get to watch racier programming, if that's important to you. I have never subscribed to cable tv and never will.
But yes, people who pay for commercial tv are stupid stupid stupid.

It's a good idea. But unfortunately we wouldn't win. It is true there are a lot of commercials. Lucky I have tivo so I can fast forward the commercials. And if you want channels just for the movies I suggest get netflix it is really cheap and convienient. Good Luck!

Yeah, what I like best about cable television is this....I work 3-11 pm....and what's on when I get home near midnight.?....
Episodes of cheers and night court I watched as a kid for free, infomercials, an episode of chappelle airing for the 762 time, and the sci fi channel----which shows commercials every 3 minutes.

I'm with you. I feel the same way about going to the movies. I didn't spend 12 bucks to be advertised to. I close my eyes if they play commercials before the movie begins...

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I just recently got rid of my Satellite programming also. What's the point in paying such high prices every month to watch the same movies over andover and over again when I can go to the movie store and pay once to see it?

Yeah, send me a notice and I'll boycott it when you do, seriously.
But even more seriously--I hate to say it--the cable companies have to pay for infrastructure, operation and maintenance. The satellite company did not just find a random, stray satellite in orbit, plant a flag on it and say, "You will transmit for me."

My neighbor pointed out that we pay for cable and it bounces off satelites the US government PAID for! Talking about the screwin you get for the screwin you got! We're paying for what we own through tax dollars!

GOOD IDEA...MINE IS THAT WE ONLY PAY 4 THE TIME THAT WE WATCH..i.e .......IF I WANT 2 SEE A 2 HOUR MOVIE AND AN HOUR SHOW I ONLY PAY 4 THE 3 HOURS THAT I WATCHED AND NOTHING MORE.....IT WOULD SAVE ON ELECTRICITY ..PEOPLE WILL TURN IT OFF MORE.....WHAT U THINK?
