Google the name of any newspaper i.e. your home town paper, the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette, The San Diego Union Tribune, USA Today, Wall Street Journal......
Major magazines: Newsweek, Time, Forbes......
Also call any local library and ask for references. They can give you more suggestions than I can.

I'll be honest I get burned out on the news and the various biasis out there, plus I used to be in Media Relations so that my excuse. But when I do go trolling for news I find the NY Daily News website entertaining, and I will go to AlJazeera's english language site too, to get a different perspective. I also like the Globe and Mail and the London Times
all pretty mainstream, though.

I read the New York Times, primarily because they seem to have reporters in every single corner of the world. Their international coverage is unparalleled, and their domestic human-interest pieces aren't bad either. For local news, I go to my local paper, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. I don't go to TV for news anymore because it is far too sensational.

Let me at least explain WHY people do not read, listen to or watch the news. It is because the MEDIA is comprised of nothing but LIARS. People are SICK of the LIES.
But, if you want reliable news, read Yahoo. Then REVERSE the message you receive from Yahoo and THAT is the truth.
The truth is, we are being lied to. Call yourself an INTELLECTUAL GIANT and leave those of us who have come to grips with the fact that NOTHING BUT LIES are being spewed, have our peace. Let us have our peace.
PEACE IS NOT HAVING NEWS FROM THE LIARS SPEWED ON US AS IF IT WERE THE SPERM FROM A GANGBANG IN HARLEM.

in my opinion, a lot of the news has nothing to do with intellect. it is simply information which is most often slanted in a particular way to make us think what the writer wants us to think.
but hey, if you want news, try wikipedia

Reading news has nothing or very little to do with intellect. For news you can check yahoo news or livescience.com news. It's what I do.
