I know that in order to look impressive to a college is to do some volunteer work. First do you have to talk to your school about it? And second what are some good volunteer activities

Cleaning, kitchenwork, packing, running errands, gardening, babysitting, newspaper delivery, restaurant jobs, volunteering are some of the jobs available. These jobs are posted in local newspapers and billboards.
Also,a very good option is to work from home on your computer - write articles, sell on eBay, make a website, take surveys...nd make money on ur own!

Try the hospital. They always need volunteers.

I don't think you HAVE to talk to your school about it but they might have some places in mind that welcome students. Maybe you can volunteer at an old folks home.. they always enjoy company.... a homeless shelter... a church if you are religious might have ideas.... animal shelters always need help
