Family guy caters to the tongue in cheek where Simpsons is more family amusement. I prefer family guy but I like both.

Why do I feel like I'm gonna be in the minority here?
The Simpsons, hands down.
Not only was the Simpsons a pioneer in its field, its still fresh to this day.
IMHO Family Guy is merely a PG13 version of the Simpsons, Peter and Homer are practically twins.
The Simpsons can pull off edgy without being crass and beating you over the head with a joke.
I've only laughed twice at Family Guy. The Y2k episode when Peters son sees peter in the decontamination suit and yells something like "The government, run ET" and ET runs out, and when Stuey asked, I think the dog, to play the ending theme music from the Hulk TV show and he walked backwards like Bruce Banner.

I really like the Simpsons, but I like Family Guy better, though the simpsons must being something right, look how long they have been around.

Simpsons is better It has been on the air for 16 years and Family Guy was cancelled for five years.

Family Guy has an intellegent scence of humor as well as wacky....The Simpsons is a classic pop culture hit because of its ability to attract stars with humor thats not totaly humiliating and its brilliant story line. If your looing for out of the ordinary seen Family Guy but The Simpsons is the most succesful classic hit.
